Your adventure begins in Delhi, where ancient monuments, bustling bazaars, and colonial landmarks provide a fascinating introduction to India's rich history. Continue to the romantic city of Udaipur, renowned for its shimmering lakes, magnificent palaces, and elegant heritage. Travel onward to Jodhpur, the Blue City, where the mighty Mehrangarh Fort overlooks a maze of blue-painted houses and vibrant markets.

Journey deeper into the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer, the legendary Golden City, famous for its living fort, beautifully carved havelis, and magical desert landscapes. Explore the historic desert city of Bikaner, known for its impressive fortresses, colourful culture, and rich traditions.

In Jaipur, Rajasthan's Pink City, discover majestic forts, royal palaces, and bustling bazaars filled with handicrafts and gemstones. Continue to Agra, home to the world-famous Taj Mahal, a masterpiece of Mughal architecture and one of the most beautiful monuments ever created. The journey concludes in Varanasi, India's holiest city, where ancient temples, sacred rituals, and the spiritual life along the River Ganges offer a profound and unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

On arrival at Delhi airport our representative having a placard displaying your name will meet you to pick you up and transfer to your hotel. Today only an airport transfer is included and no sightseeing or any other visit is planned or included. If you arrive in Delhi early morning and wish to do sightseeing then kindly let us know and we shall do the needful and include a visit to Delhi attractions. Overnight at hotel in Delhi. 

After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to Old Delhi and enjoy an Old Delhi heritage walking tour. Visit the Sikh temple in Chandni chowk areas. We will start our walk-through Silver street, Decoration market (Kinari Bazaar), Food street (Parathe wali Gali), Spice Market (Khari Baoli). It is Asia's biggest wholesale spice market. You will be mesmerized once you enter the market with the stunning colours and rich aroma of the of the various spices and dry fruits.

After we visit Old Delhi, drive to India Gate, a memorial to 70000 soldiers who died during the first world war. Drive past Parliament house, President house. Later visit of Humayu's tomb, classified as world heritage sites by UNESCO.

After breakfast we will transfer you to Delhi airport. Fly to Udaipur. On arrival you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Udaipur for overnight stay.

Optional activity: A cooking class with an Indian family.

After breakfast visit of Jagdish temple in Old city. Later visit the City Palace. It is the second largest palace complex in India. Later enjoy a relaxing boat ride at Lake Pichola.

We will also visit Sahelion-Ki-Bari or the "Gardens of the Maids of Honor". We recommend you enjoy folk dance performance in “Bagore Ki Haveli”.

Overnight stay at the hotel in Udaipur.

After breakfast drive to Jodhpur. On the way visit of Ranakpur Jain temple with 1444 exquisitely carved marble pillars. Further drive to Jodhpur. It is the second largest city of Rajasthan city also known as blue city. Jodhpur marks its origin back to the year 1459 AD. Arrive and check into your hotel. Evening free at leisure. Or enjoy a walk in vibrant and colourful Clock tower market. Overnight in Jodhpur.

After breakfast visit the Mehrangarh Fort (pictured). Rao Jodha became the ruler in 1458 and within 1 year of his accession Rao Jodha decided to build a new capital. The foundation of this fort was laid on 12th May 1459 by Jodha himself on a rocky hill six miles south of Mandore the ancient capital of Marwad. The hill, a hundred and twenty meters high, was known as Bhakurcheeria, the Mountain of Birds, or Cheeriatunk, the Bird's Beak. This fort has never been taken in a siege. Visit various palaces inside the fort. After the visit drive to Jaisalmer. Arrive and check in to your hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel and visit of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer lies in the heart of Thar Desert. In the city itself many of the houses and temples are exquisitely sculptured. You will visit Gadisar lake, Bada Bagh and the Jaisalmer fort, also known as the 'Golden Fort' (sonar Killa) because of the golden colour of its stone. This is the only living fort in the world and about a quarter of city's population still live inside the fort.

You will also visit beautifully carved Havelis in the city. Notably Salim Singh Haveli and Patwa Haveli (Haveli means private mansion). They usually contain a courtyard and many rooms. These Havelis were the elaborate homes of Jaisalmer's rich merchants. The ostentatious carvings etched out in sandstone with infinite detail and then painstakingly pieced together in different patterns each more lavish than the next were commissioned to put on show the owner's status and wealth. In the late afternoon depart for Sam sand dunes. Enjoy a camel ride and watch the sunset in great Thar Desert. Return to the hotel in Jaisalmer for overnight stay.

 

 

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Bikaner. Arrive and check into your hotel. Later visit of Bikaner fort. It was constructed in 1593 by Raja Rai Singh. Visit various palaces inside the fort. Later enjoy a tuktuk ride in old city. Overnight in Bikaner.

After breakfast drive to Jaipur. Arrive and check in to your hotel. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and has lot to offer. There are many activities you can do. As per your interests we can arrange activities for you. Following are some of the most popular and worth doing activities: Cooking class in Jaipur, heritage walking tour of the old city, cycle rikshaw ride in the Old city, half day block printing workshop in Sanganer.

Jaipur is considered as the first planned city of India. It was founded by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1727. Jaipur has morphed itself into India’s capital of cool. There is a subtle sass in its stride. A silent swag. And it is all under the radar. Very few cities in the world carry the weight of tradition with the gait of cool. Jaipur does that.

Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Amber fort. Here you may enjoy an Elephant ride (optional activity). Visit the Amber fort and later return to Jaipur city for sightseeing of other prominent monuments. You can visit Wind Palace (Hawa Mahal), Water Palace (Jal Mahal).

Recommended Activity: We recommend you take a heritage walking tour in the Old city. Especially designed walking tours will give you an opportunity to maximise your understanding about the city and experience the hidden corners of Jaipur city. Your guide will take you through vibrant bazaars and lanes of the Old City. You can also interact with locals and try some of best the street food delicacies of Rajasthan. In the evening end your tour by visiting Govind Dev ji Hindu temple located near the city palace. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. One of the important practices that are done in the temple is ‘Aartis’ and ‘Bhog since the temple was constructed and still continuing with it. You can witness the prayer ceremony at this temple. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast drive to Ranthambore. Arrive and check into your hotel.

Ranthambore National Park is one of the best places to spot tigers in India. Enjoy your afternoon safari in a 6-seater Jypsy. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Please note: Ranthambore park is closed from 1st May to 30th Sept and hence this tour is not operational during this period. We can operate this tour without visiting Ranthambore. Safari Zone allocation is determined by the Jungle Authorities, Forest Department of Government of Rajasthan and we have no control on it. 

After breakfast drive to Agra. On the way visit of Fatehpur Sikri founded by Mughal emperor Akbar. Further drive to Agra. Arrive and visit of Agra fort.

Overnight in hotel.

Early morning sunrise visit of Taj Mahal. (In December and January due to heavy fog you may not have a proper sunrise view of Taj Mahal). Return to hotel and then drive to Delhi airport. Fly to Varanasi. On arrival you will be met by our local driver and transfer to hotel in Varanasi. Night in Varanasi.

Early morning our guide will come and take you to the old city near Dashashwamedh Ghat. Enjoy a sunrise boat ride on river Ganges. You can observe here the Hindu way of life along the banks of the Ganges (Ghats) River. There are number of Ghats alongside river Ganges. Your guide will explain about Ghats, Hinduism, beautiful ancient building and temples. After the boat ride, take a small walk in to the old city of Varanasi. Return to hotel. Later visit of Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon.

In the evening enjoy a prayer ceremony at Ghats of river Ganges. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

After breakfast transfer to Varanasi airport. Fly to Delhi. Connecting flight back home.

A Great First Trip to India

What a ride through Rajasthan!
  Far beyond anything we could have ever imagined for our first trip to India. We joined India Personal Tours, and a small group of like-minded folks, for an amazing 14-day ride through Rajasthan. An unbelievable itinerary took us to places we would never have found under our own steam, from the wonderful chaos of Dehli to small rural villages like Narlai and so many more mind-blowing towns and cities in between, there were unforgettable experiences at every turn. Each new hotel we arrived at seemed better than the last, and we often found ourselves awestruck at where we were staying. Our expert guide, Gudu was absolutely brilliant. Always on hand to share his wealth of knowledge and tips on each location - covering everything with a broad historical, cultural, architectural, gastronomical and spiritual perspective that made each new experience all the richer. Not a bad singing voice either! Gudu also had an uncanny knack for ‘herding the kittens’ of our group, his bright green beret and big smile became a beckon for us as we wandered through crowded temples, havelis and bazaars. He created a warm family atmosphere among our group, was flexible enough to tailor days for our group and even welcomed us into his own family home when we visited the Golden City of Jaisalmer. Big shout out to our unflappable driver, Dev too. The bus rides were super comfy, but I think we managed every to sample every other mode of transport possible too, from crazy rickshaws and tuk-tuk rides, to camels, elephants and even bullock drawn carts!I could go on and on, but we would thoroughly recommend India Personal Tours whether you’ve been to India before or it’s your first time.
