The expedition takes you across some of the highest motorable roads on the planet, where every turn reveals awe-inspiring vistas—snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, winding rivers, and vast barren plateaus. The ever-changing terrain offers a unique riding experience, from smooth mountain highways to rugged off-road stretches.

At the heart of the journey lies Leh, a charming Himalayan town steeped in Buddhist culture. Explore ancient monasteries, fluttering prayer flags, and traditional villages that offer a glimpse into a way of life shaped by altitude and isolation.

Itinerary

Arrive at Delhi airport. Our representative will meet you at the airport with a placard in his hand mentioning your name on it. Check in time at hotel is from 14:00h. Overnight at hotel in Delhi.

Today we explore Old and New Delhi. First of all, visit of Chandni Chok, Jama mosque in Old Delhi. Enjoy a heritage walking tour in narrow lanes of Old city. Here you can also enjoy a cycle Rikshawa ride. Your guide will explain history and colours of Old city. Later visit of India Gate, Drive past President house. Finally visit Qutab Minar built in 1193 AD. It’s a 73 m high minaret with five stories. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

We will transfer you to airport and fly to Leh. On arrival our local driver will welcome you at Leh airport and transfer you to your hotel in Leh. Free time at leisure to acclimatise. Later in the evening your tour leader will come and meet you at your hotel. Bit of briefing and important information about your tour and also get introduced to your motorbikes. Overnight in Leh hotel

After breakfast at your hotel we start our Royal Enfield adventure and head west along the beautiful and serene Indus river. It is a transboundary river of Asia and a trans – Himalayan River of South and Central Asia. On the way we will visit Alchi monastery. We will have couple of breaks on the way before reaching Lamayuru monastery.

This monastery is situated at an altitude of 3510 meters. The terrain next to monastery is stunning and incredible. It is mesmerizing and unbelievable when you look at the unique landscape in Lamayuru. This is popularly known as the ‘Moonland of Ladakh. The moon like topography is unique and is believed to be created by drying of a huge lake. Overnight in Lamayuru.

After breakfast visit of Lamayuru monastery. Then we will continue our adventure in west direction between the Zanskar and Ladakh mountain ranges and over Fotu La pass. As you ride on your motorcycles you are going to pass through vast, arid landscapes. Arrive at Bodh Kharbu village and leave the main highway. From here onwards we take a small road which will take us towards Temisgam. Enjoy beautiful views of valley. Surrounding is so serene and views breath-taking. We continue and then follow the course of the sacred Indus river. Arrive at Temisgam. Overnight.

After breakfast in anticipation of more wonderful scenic journey we head towards Leh on a narrow road through Hemis Shukpachan. It is a small traditional village in Sham valley in Ladakh. While riding on this part of journey we will visit several sites like Likir monastery, beautiful Yangthang village or even Basgo palace, which is believed to be the royal capital in past. After a great adventure today we will return to Leh. Rest of the day is at leisure on your own. Overnight in Leh.

After breakfast we pick our bikes and today head towards Khardung La pass. During this ride you will encounter many hairpin turns through which you will enjoy your ride. Khardung La pass is the highest motorable road in the world at 5370 meters above sea level. You will be mesmerised by its beautiful scenery as you see Zanskar range to the south and the Karakoram mountains to the north. Continue riding torwads Hundar. Our descend start here through the Shyok and Nubra valleys. At a place called Khalsar, we will take a turn northwest towards the Hunder sand dunes.Before reaching Hunder we will visit Diskit monastery. Continue riding on to Hunder. Arrive and check into your prebooked accommodation. Overnight.

After breakfast we will enjoy this short biking stretch to enjoy breath-taking views and stunning beauty of Nubra valley’s. You will see many natural wonderful spots. As an optional activity we can go for an enjoyable walk between Summor’s old stone walls, willows, poplars and irrigation channels. Arrive and check into your camp/hotel. Visit of Summor monastery. Overnight.

After breakfast we will ride through small roads and descend along the Nubra valley. We continue on a road that runs alongside the Shyok river. Natural beauty is never disappearing. You can enjoy scenic road and spectacular views as you ride along the river. As you are riding we are about to leave the river’s vast valley behind us and go towards Tangyar village and Wari La pass, at 5,300 m altitude. We also pass the 4,000 m mark and zigzagging small roads. Arrive at Leh and check into your hotel. Overnight in Leh.

After breakfast we pick our Royal Enfield motorcycles and head towards Tso Kar Lake. As we ride towards South Indus river is behind us. Then we take a small road winding down the Rumtse gorge. Further on we ride on to Tanglang La pass (5,315 m). It is termed as the second highest motorable pass in the world! We continue our ride on a smooth and sandy road and witness beautiful lunar landscape. Arrive at Tso Kar Lake which is known for its size and depth. Overnight at your tented accommodation.

After breakfast we head on a sandy and sometimes stony road towards Changtang. This is known as Ladakh’s most remote region. Surrounding area is breath-taking. In this remote region only a few villagers permanently live. Further ride on to reach the famous Tso Moriri Lake. Picturesquely located in secluded, breathtakingly beautiful Rupshu Valley, the high-altitude Tso Moriri Lake is stunning and serene. Flanked by lofty mountains, this serene lake is about 4,000 meters above sea level. After checking in we will visit Korzok village. It is known as highest permanent settlement in the world. Overnight in hotel or tented accommodation.

After breakfast we ride towards north direction and reach the Indus river at the Mahe bridge check post. We will head back to Leh. This last leg of our trip will leave you astonished awestruck while looking at scenery and natural wonders. Road will be narrow but beautiful. We ride along the river and enjoy our adventure of Ladakh motor cycle trip. Finally after riding through these narrow roads we the valley gradually opens out. Arrive at Leh and check into your hotel.

Today you are free on your own and enjoy the town and bit of sightseeing. You can also visit Stok palace or some other attractions as per your desire. You also have an option to do a short ride up to Thiksey monastery which is 18 km from Leh.

Today we will transfer you to Leh airport for a flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport you will be transferred to your hotel for day use [rooms to be occupied by 14:00]. Get freshen up and relax before we transfer you to Delhi airport for your connecting international flight.

What a ride through Rajasthan!
  Far beyond anything we could have ever imagined for our first trip to India. We joined India Personal Tours, and a small group of like-minded folks, for an amazing 14-day ride through Rajasthan. An unbelievable itinerary took us to places we would never have found under our own steam, from the wonderful chaos of Dehli to small rural villages like Narlai and so many more mind-blowing towns and cities in between, there were unforgettable experiences at every turn. Each new hotel we arrived at seemed better than the last, and we often found ourselves awestruck at where we were staying. Our expert guide, Gudu was absolutely brilliant. Always on hand to share his wealth of knowledge and tips on each location - covering everything with a broad historical, cultural, architectural, gastronomical and spiritual perspective that made each new experience all the richer. Not a bad singing voice either! Gudu also had an uncanny knack for ‘herding the kittens’ of our group, his bright green beret and big smile became a beckon for us as we wandered through crowded temples, havelis and bazaars. He created a warm family atmosphere among our group, was flexible enough to tailor days for our group and even welcomed us into his own family home when we visited the Golden City of Jaisalmer. Big shout out to our unflappable driver, Dev too. The bus rides were super comfy, but I think we managed every to sample every other mode of transport possible too, from crazy rickshaws and tuk-tuk rides, to camels, elephants and even bullock drawn carts!I could go on and on, but we would thoroughly recommend India Personal Tours whether you’ve been to India before or it’s your first time.
