Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in comfort. After check-in, the remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax and recover from your journey. For guests arriving earlier in the day, this is an ideal opportunity to rest, acclimatize to the new surroundings, or enjoy the facilities of the hotel. Please note that the standard check-in time at the hotel is 2:00 PM. Should you arrive before this time, early check-in may be available subject to the hotel's occupancy and policies. You will spend the day visiting Delhi’s major attractions including the Red Fort (exterior view only) and Humayan’s tomb. Try some of Delhi’s famous street cuisine for lunch and explore the old Delhi market by rickshaw. We will also take a heritage walking tour in Food Street, Spice market and Chandni chowk.
Explore Paranthe Wali Gali, Old Delhi: The Legend Lives On - It’s hard to resist the whiff of hot oil and the aroma of sputtering spices. The air is filled with high-pitched shouts of shop owners and chaos from the busy streets. As the world goes by, we will be drawn to the sight of stuffed parathas being dipped into a large cauldron bubbling with desi ghee. They emerge deep-fried, golden and beautifully transformed. There’s no reason to stop for parathas at this point but it’s clearly not an opportunity to miss, so why not. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Flight - 1 hour
We will fly to Lucknow in the morning and arrive at lunch time. The ‘City of Nawabs’ offers amazing options in Awadhi cuisine and is a must for foodies. Lucknowi food is quintessentially kebabs, sheermal (a sweet naan), kormas and Biryani. The cooking technique usually incorporates the ‘dum style’ where the food is cooked over a low flame. You should finish your meal with Prakash ki Kulfi, Lucknawi pann or Malai ki Gilori.
Prior to the cooking class we will explore some of the local markets, including the Yahiyaganj spice market where you can discover some of the famous Awadhi street food. Later in the afternoon you will have a cooking class that focuses on teaching techniques prominent in Lucknow. (Your dinner is provided by the food you cook in class).
Flight
Transfer to airport and fly to Jodhpur via Delhi. Jodhpur is known as the Blue City and is iconic with the indigo washed walls in the old city. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a rooftop dinner. Overnight in Jodhpur.
The morning will be spent exploring the Mehrangarh Fort, where you can look down upon the old city and beyond. Following this we will move back to the old city to enjoy a heritage walking tour of Old city.
Later in the afternoon you will have your next cooking lesson in the countryside with a weaver’s family. We will prepare and cook local Marwadi dishes. Today we enjoy a feast called Goth. A very unique way of get together and socialise. This tradition of Goth is practised and followed since hundreds of years. Villagers cook with old recipes and prepare local dishes. Most of the food is cooked with wood and other natural elements. Enjoy Dal bati Churma, raita, Gatta Sabji, Garlic Chutney, Ker Sangri (desert berry/bean). Overnight in Jodhpur.
After breakfast drive to Narlai. Halfway between Udaipur and Jodhpur, hidden away in the Arawali Hills, we will spend the night at a former royal hunting lodge which has been converted into a boutique heritage hotel. We will arrive at lunch and you will have the opportunity to relax in this rural setting.
In the evening you will enjoy true Rajasthani royal hospitality at the 16th Century old stepwell of Rawla Narlai. The evening begins when you gather at the courtyard to enjoy a welcome drink with the resident royal. You will be regaled with stories and history of the locals and have the opportunity to dress with turbans and scarf before being transported by bullock carts to your venue. Swaying to the movement of the cart you will watch the village slowly going to sleep and the starlit sky unfold above you till you reach your destination that is lit by hundreds of lamps.
This fairy-tale setting is the start of a culinary journey that ignites your taste buds with elaborate flavours while being entertained by the local jogi, singing the devotional folk songs in his rich melodious voice. This culinary experience ends with the return to the hotel courtyard by our jeeps and a welcome cup of calming herbal tea.
Today only dinner is provided, and no cooking demonstration will take place.
Morning is at leisure. Drive to Udaipur. On the way visit of Ranakpur Jain Temple which has 1444 exquisitely carved marble pillars. The Ranakpur Jain Temples are among the most important and magnificent Jain pilgrimage sites in India. Located in the Aravalli Hills of Rajasthan, they lie between Jodhpur and Udaipur. The main temple, Chaumukha Temple, is dedicated to Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara. Built in the 15th century during the reign of Rana Kumbha, the temple is an architectural masterpiece. It is renowned for its 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each featuring a unique design. The temple complex showcases exceptional craftsmanship and exquisite stone carvings. Its spacious halls, domes, and detailed sculptures create a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The temples are a fine example of the Maru-Gurjara style of architecture. Surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful hills, Ranakpur offers a tranquil setting for visitors. Today, the Ranakpur Jain Temples attract pilgrims, historians, architects, and travelers from around the world.Continue to Udaipur. Udaipur is known as the City of Lakes, with five prominent lakes and other watercourses. After arriving at the hotel, we will spend the rest of the afternoon on a walking tour around the old city.
After breakfast visit of City Palace. Then enjoy boat ride at Lake Pichola. Also visit of a miniature painting school. In the afternoon you will have a cooking lesson. We will know how to make traditional foods, nutritional health benefits of the foods and spices, information on proper combinations, possible substitutions and get to know old Rajasthani cooking secrets. Cooking class will be based on North Indian and local Rajasthani cuisine.
After check-out drive to Bijaipur. Arrive and check in to your heritage hotel Castle Bijaipur. The morning and early afternoon will be spent sightseeing around the beautiful pink city of Jaipur. You will visit the Amber Fort with the Sheesh Mahal (all of mirrors). Amer Palace, also known as Amber Fort, is one of Rajasthan’s most magnificent historical monuments, located about 11 km from Jaipur. Built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I, it showcases a stunning blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The palace is renowned for its beautifully decorated halls, intricate mirror work in the Sheesh Mahal, and ornate courtyards. Perched on a hill overlooking Maota Lake, it offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Later in the afternoon we will enjoy our Rajasthani Cooking class. Rajasthani food is famous for its rich flavour and spices. The cuisine of Jaipur in peculiar is influenced by the lifestyle of the Maharajas and Maharani of Jaipur.
The lifestyle of the rich people of Jaipur was nowhere less than the lifestyle of prince Charles, the only difference maintained by the definition of royalty in their senses. Cuisines of Jaipur include all the Rajasthani food which is cooked only under Desi and pure ghee (clarified butter). Some of the local cuisines we will prepare and eat are: Lall Maas, Gate ki Kichdi, Rajasthani curry, Bundi raita, vegetables.
After check-out we will drive to Agra. On the way visit of Abhaneri Step well and Fatehpur Sikri. Arrive and check into your hotel. Stroll in Sadar Bazar and Food street of Agra.
In the evening we will have a cooking class with Mughlai cuisines. Mughlai cuisine consists of dishes developed in the medieval Indo-Persian world at the centres of the Mughal Empire. The cuisine that portrays a mix of culinary styles and recipes of North India and Central Asia is highly influenced by the cuisines of Central Asia that has a rich history of rule of the Turco-Mongol Mughal empires.
