After breakfast, depart from Udaipur and enjoy a scenic drive through the picturesque countryside of Rajasthan towards the sacred town of Pushkar. Upon arrival in Pushkar, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax before exploring this charming pilgrimage town on foot.

Begin with a leisurely walking tour through Pushkar Bazaar, a colourful marketplace renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and bohemian charm. Wander through its narrow lanes lined with shops selling handcrafted jewellery, embroidered textiles, leather goods, silver ornaments, traditional clothing, rose products, incense, musical instruments, and locally made souvenirs. The lively streets are filled with cafés, temples, and small artisan workshops, making it one of Rajasthan's most enjoyable markets to explore.

Continue to the sacred Pushkar Lake, one of Hinduism's most revered pilgrimage sites. Surrounded by 52 bathing ghats and numerous temples, the tranquil lake is believed to have been created by Lord Brahma and attracts pilgrims from across India throughout the year. Stroll along the peaceful ghats, observe devotees performing traditional rituals and evening prayers, and experience the unique spiritual atmosphere that has made Pushkar a centre of faith for centuries. Your guide will explain the religious significance of the lake, the legends associated with its creation, and the customs observed by pilgrims. Return to your hotel for the evening.

Overnight: Pushkar.

After breakfast, depart from Pushkar and drive to Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, famously known as the Pink City. The journey takes you through the scenic Aravalli landscape, passing rural villages, farmlands, and colourful countryside before arriving in one of India's most celebrated heritage cities.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax.

Later in the afternoon, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the iconic Patrika Gate, one of Jaipur's most photographed landmarks. Located at the entrance to Jawahar Circle Garden, this magnificent gateway is celebrated for its vibrant hand-painted corridors, each depicting the rich history, culture, architecture, festivals, and artistic traditions of Rajasthan. The intricate frescoes, colourful arches, and exquisite detailing make it an ideal place for photography while providing a visual introduction to the state's rich cultural heritage.

Continue to the beautiful Birla Temple (Laxmi Narayan Temple), an elegant white marble temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Built by the Birla family, the temple combines traditional Hindu architecture with modern craftsmanship. Its finely carved marble walls feature intricate sculptures, mythological motifs, and quotations from various religious scriptures, symbolising harmony and universal peace. Surrounded by well-maintained gardens and set against the backdrop of Moti Dungri Hill, the temple offers a peaceful atmosphere for quiet reflection.

If your visit coincides with the evening prayer ceremony (Aarti), you may experience the temple filled with devotional music, chanting, and the glow of hundreds of lamps, creating a truly serene and spiritual ambience.

After the visit, return to your hotel.

Along the way, witness the city's rich craftsmanship, interact with local artisans, and experience the authentic culture and everyday life that make Jaipur one of India's most fascinating heritage destinations.

After an enriching day exploring Jaipur's royal grandeur and living traditions, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart from Jaipur and drive towards Agra, crossing the rural landscapes of Rajasthan before entering the state of Uttar Pradesh. Along the way, enjoy views of traditional villages, mustard fields (seasonal), and the ever-changing countryside that reflects the diversity of northern India.

En route, stop at the historic village of Abhaneri, home to the remarkable Chand Baori, one of India's oldest and deepest stepwells. Built in the 8th–9th century by King Chanda of the Nikumbha dynasty, this extraordinary architectural masterpiece descends over 20 metres and features more than 3,500 perfectly symmetrical stone steps arranged across 13 levels. Originally constructed to conserve water in the arid region, Chand Baori is renowned for its striking geometric design and remains one of Rajasthan's most impressive hidden treasures.

Adjacent to the stepwell, visit the Harshat Mata Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Joy and Happiness. Although partially in ruins, the temple showcases beautifully carved stone sculptures and intricate architectural details dating back to the early medieval period, offering a fascinating insight into the artistic excellence of ancient Rajasthan.

After exploring Abhaneri, continue your journey to Agra, the former capital of the Mughal Empire and home to some of India's most celebrated monuments. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure, or take a stroll through the local markets to experience the city's lively atmosphere. Agra is renowned for its exquisite marble inlay craftsmanship, leather goods, traditional sweets such as Petha, and rich Mughal culinary heritage.

Overnight: Agra.

Rise early this morning for a truly unforgettable experience as you visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when the soft morning light bathes the white marble monument in delicate shades of pink, gold, and ivory. The peaceful atmosphere at this hour allows you to fully appreciate the beauty and grandeur of one of the world's most iconic monuments.

After your visit, return to the hotel for breakfast and some time to freshen up. Later, check out and continue to the magnificent Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Mughal military architecture in India.

Constructed primarily of red sandstone by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century and later expanded by his successors, the fort served as the principal residence of the Mughal emperors for many years. Explore its impressive palaces, elegant audience halls, beautiful courtyards, and royal pavilions, including the Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangiri Mahal, and the Musamman Burj, where Emperor Shah Jahan is believed to have spent his final years gazing across the Yamuna River towards the Taj Mahal.

Following your visit, begin the drive to Delhi International Airport (approximately 4–5 hours via the Yamuna Expressway). Upon arrival, your driver will assist with the drop-off at the departure terminal, where you will complete the necessary check-in and immigration formalities before boarding your international flight back home.

A wonderful journey that will be remembered
Our seven-day trip with India Personal Tours through northern India – with stops in Jaipur, Agra and Delhi – was a very special experience in every respect. From the warm welcome by our great guide Kunal Singh Shekhawat at the airport to the departure day we felt superbly looked after and accompanied by our guide as well as our friendly driver Vipin. From the very beginning, a very personal, warm atmosphere was created. It didn’t feel like a classic guided tour, but rather like traveling with a good friend. This openness, cordiality and attention has marked our journey from the beginning and has given it a special lightness. In addition to the many exciting insights into history, culture and architecture, it was above all the personal exchange that made this trip so enriching. The conversations, the small details and the fine sense of what interests us made every day special. We look back on this trip with great gratitude and can recommend India Personal Tours with complete conviction. It was an all-round successful experience and we very much hope that in the future there will be another opportunity to travel together.  ...Read More

A Great First Trip to India
India Personal Tours made our first trip to India exceptional. We visited six cities over two weeks, most in Rajasthan, and our guides and drivers -- all friendly and caring -- made sure we got the most out of every site, including some unplanned stops. The hotels Manu and his team chose for us were all also first rate. The company met all our expectations, and we're already planning a trip back!  ...Read More

What a ride through Rajasthan!
Far beyond anything we could have ever imagined for our first trip to India. We joined India Personal Tours, and a small group of like-minded folks, for an amazing 14-day ride through Rajasthan. An unbelievable itinerary took us to places we would never have found under our own steam, from the wonderful chaos of Dehli to small rural villages like Narlai and so many more mind-blowing towns and cities in between, there were unforgettable experiences at every turn. Each new hotel we arrived at seemed better than the last, and we often found ourselves awestruck at where we were staying. Our expert guide, Gudu was absolutely brilliant. Always on hand to share his wealth of knowledge and tips on each location - covering everything with a broad historical, cultural, architectural, gastronomical and spiritual perspective that made each new experience all the richer. Not a bad singing voice either! Gudu also had an uncanny knack for ‘herding the kittens’ of our group, his bright green beret and big smile became a beckon for us as we wandered through crowded temples, havelis and bazaars. He created a warm family atmosphere among our group, was flexible enough to tailor days for our group and even welcomed us into his own family home when we visited the Golden City of Jaisalmer. Big shout out to our unflappable driver, Dev too. The bus rides were super comfy, but I think we managed every to sample every other mode of transport possible too, from crazy rickshaws and tuk-tuk rides, to camels, elephants and even bullock drawn carts!I could go on and on, but we would thoroughly recommend India Personal Tours whether you’ve been to India before or it’s your first time. Halfway through our travels we were already planning our next trip.  ...Read More
