Upon your arrival at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a personalized placard displaying your name. You will then be escorted to your private vehicle for a comfortable transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast, embark on a fascinating exploration of Delhi, a city where centuries-old heritage blends seamlessly with modern India.

Begin your day in Old Delhi, the historic heart of the capital, where bustling streets, vibrant bazaars, and centuries-old monuments offer an authentic glimpse into the city's rich past. Enjoy a traditional rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, one of India's oldest and most vibrant marketplaces, renowned for its colorful shops, street life, and historic charm.

Continue with a visit to the famous Khari Baoli Spice Market, Asia's largest wholesale spice market, where the aromas of exotic spices, herbs, dried fruits, and teas create an unforgettable sensory experience. En route, enjoy an outside view of the magnificent Red Fort, the iconic Mughal citadel and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Later, drive through New Delhi, designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, and admire its wide boulevards and impressive colonial architecture. Pass by the iconic India Gate, India's national war memorial, and the grand Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's House), the official residence of the President of India.

Continue to the peaceful Lodhi Gardens, a beautifully landscaped park dotted with magnificent 15th-century tombs, offering a tranquil escape in the heart of the city.

Begin with a visit to the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort, one of the world’s few living forts, where narrow lanes, ancient temples, and beautifully carved havelis create a timeless atmosphere. Continue to the exquisite Patwon Ki Haveli, renowned for its intricate sandstone architecture, followed by visits to Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli. Upon arrival in Jodhpur, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may choose to relax after the drive, enjoy the facilities at your hotel, or venture out on your own to explore the lively local markets, cafés, or nearby streets at your own pace.

After breakfast, set out to discover the many treasures of Jodhpur, Rajasthan's vibrant Blue City. Your sightseeing begins at the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, a spectacular 15th-century fortress that rises dramatically above the city. Explore its beautifully preserved palaces, museums, and intricately decorated courtyards while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the maze of blue-painted houses below.

Later, immerse yourself in the charm of the old city on a guided heritage walk through its winding streets. Discover centuries-old temples, beautifully carved havelis, hidden alleyways, and lively neighbourhoods that showcase the city's rich history and everyday life. The walk concludes at the bustling Clock Tower and Sardar Market, where colourful stalls display aromatic spices, handcrafted textiles, jewellery, leather goods, and a variety of traditional Rajasthani handicrafts.

In the afternoon, travel to the artisan village of Salawas, celebrated for its long-standing weaving traditions. Meet local families who have been producing the region's renowned handwoven dhurries for generations and watch skilled craftsmen transform cotton into beautifully patterned rugs using traditional handlooms. After breakfast, set out on a guided walking tour of Deogarh, a charming heritage town that offers an authentic glimpse into rural Rajasthan. Wander through its narrow lanes lined with traditional havelis, centuries-old temples, bustling local markets, and beautifully painted houses. Along the way, observe the daily life of the local community, interact with friendly residents, and discover the town's rich history, culture, and architectural heritage.

Visit some of Deogarh's historic landmarks and enjoy the relaxed pace of life that makes this small town so appealing. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the former princely state, its royal family, and local traditions that have remained unchanged for generations.

After the walk, return to the magnificent Deogarh Mahal, a beautifully restored 17th-century heritage palace overlooking the town. The remainder of the day is free to relax and enjoy the palace's elegant surroundings. You may unwind in the courtyards, admire the exquisite architecture and frescoes, enjoy the panoramic views from the terraces, or simply soak in the timeless atmosphere of this royal residence.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the day with a memorable journey aboard the Deogarh–Phulad Heritage Train, one of Rajasthan's most scenic railway experiences. Travelling on this historic metre-gauge railway line dating back to the British era, the train winds through the spectacular Aravalli Hills, crossing numerous bridges, tunnels, and picturesque valleys while passing remote villages and beautiful rural landscapes. This nostalgic ride offers a unique glimpse into India's rich railway heritage and the timeless charm of the countryside.

After the train journey, continue by road towards Udaipur, the romantic City of Lakes.

En route, visit the ancient Nagda Temples, a remarkable archaeological site dating back to the 10th century. Explore the beautifully carved Sahasra Bahu (Saas-Bahu) Temples, renowned for their intricate stone carvings, elegant architecture, and exquisite sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. After breakfast, begin your exploration of Udaipur, often referred to as the "City of Lakes" and one of India's most romantic destinations. Surrounded by the Aravalli Hills and adorned with magnificent palaces, tranquil lakes, and ornate temples, Udaipur offers a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.

Your first visit is to the magnificent City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan.

Continue to the beautiful Jagdish Temple, located just outside the City Palace. Dating back to the 17th century, this impressive Indo-Aryan temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is renowned for its finely carved pillars, sculpted ceilings, and detailed stonework.

Later, visit the serene Saheliyon Ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens), a delightful royal garden created for the queens and ladies of the royal household. Stroll through its lush lawns, marble pavilions, lotus pools, and charming fountains that provide a peaceful retreat from the bustling city.

In the late afternoon, proceed to Lake Pichola for a memorable boat cruise. Glide across the shimmering waters while admiring the breathtaking scenery surrounding the lake. Pass by the world-famous Lake Palace, seemingly floating on the water, as well as Jag Mandir Island Palace and the historic ghats lining the lake. The cruise offers some of the most spectacular views in all of Rajasthan, particularly as the sun begins to set.

What a ride through Rajasthan!
  Far beyond anything we could have ever imagined for our first trip to India. We joined India Personal Tours, and a small group of like-minded folks, for an amazing 14-day ride through Rajasthan. An unbelievable itinerary took us to places we would never have found under our own steam, from the wonderful chaos of Dehli to small rural villages like Narlai and so many more mind-blowing towns and cities in between, there were unforgettable experiences at every turn. Each new hotel we arrived at seemed better than the last, and we often found ourselves awestruck at where we were staying. Our expert guide, Gudu was absolutely brilliant. Always on hand to share his wealth of knowledge and tips on each location - covering everything with a broad historical, cultural, architectural, gastronomical and spiritual perspective that made each new experience all the richer. Not a bad singing voice either! Gudu also had an uncanny knack for ‘herding the kittens’ of our group, his bright green beret and big smile became a beckon for us as we wandered through crowded temples, havelis and bazaars. He created a warm family atmosphere among our group, was flexible enough to tailor days for our group and even welcomed us into his own family home when we visited the Golden City of Jaisalmer. Big shout out to our unflappable driver, Dev too. The bus rides were super comfy, but I think we managed every to sample every other mode of transport possible too, from crazy rickshaws and tuk-tuk rides, to camels, elephants and even bullock drawn carts!I could go on and on, but we would thoroughly recommend India Personal Tours whether you’ve been to India before or it’s your first time.
